Wonders of the Incarnation

Wonders of the Incarnation

Consider the marvelous truths of the Incarnation, that is that God took on flesh. The book of Hebrews reminds us that Jesus is our great High Priest (4:15). He knows us because He became one of us. He understands our hurts and suffering. He knows our
weakness and fraility. Born into poverty, knowing rejection and hunger and hurt, Jesus nonetheless lived a sinless life and became our sinless substitute as a sacrifice for our sin. Below are just a few considerations from Hebrews.

(For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
infirmities;but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:15)

  • He came to show us that he understands our condition.
  • He came to taste death for us (Hebrews 2:9).
  • He came to deliver us from the fear of death and the bondage of sin (Hebrews 2:15).
  • He came to destroy the one who had the power of death, Satan (Hebrews 2:14).
  • He came to show us his constant love for us (Heb 7:24-26).
  • He came to show us that our salvation is complete in and through him, nothing more need be done (Heb. 9:10:10-18).
